This is a list of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) and official interpretations, as set out by the IFRS Foundation. It includes accounting standards either developed or adopted by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), the standard-setting body of the IFRS Foundation.[1][2]
The IFRS include
- International Financial Reporting standards (IFRSs)—developed by the IASB;
- International Accounting Standards (IASs)—adopted by the IASB;
- Interpretations originated from the International Financial Reporting Interpretations Committee (IFRICs); and
- Standing Interpretations Committee (SICs).[2][3]
The list contains all standards and interpretations regardless whether they have been suspended.
IFRS standards are issued and maintained by the International Accounting Standards Board and were created to establish a common language so that financial statements can easily be interpreted from company to company and country to country. IFRS are the standard in over 100 countries, including the EU and many parts of Asia and South America. The growing acceptance of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as a basis for U.S. Financial reporting represents a fundamental change for the U.S. Accounting profession. The number of countries that require or allow the use of IFRS for the preparation of financial statements by publicly held companies has continued to increase. The IFRS Foundation provides free access (through Basic registration) to the PDF files of the current year's consolidated IFRS ® Standards (Part A of the Issued Standards—the Red Book), the Conceptual Framework for Financial Reporting and IFRS Practice Statements, as well as available translations of Standards.
