The other versions of Gold Miner are set in a single mining location. In Gold Miner Vegas online, you travel the world from Australia to Hawaii and then to Las Vegas, Nevada. This game trains concentration and reaction time.
HOW TO PLAY. The objective of Gold Miner Vegas is to save the Old Mine Casino in Las Vegas.
To do this, you must earn enough money to travel from Australia, thence to Hawaii, and on to Las Vegas itself where you will gamble at the casino.
To reach the monetary goal for each level before the timer runs out, reel up gold, diamonds, and other valuables from deep underground, using your claw and reel. This is similar to other versions of Gold Miner.
The reel swings back and forth like a pendulum. When the reel is lined up with a gold nugget or other valuable, press the Down Arrow key to drop your claw and grab the object.
The reason that Gold Miner Vegas online is a brain game is that timing is critical. Drop the claw a little too soon or too late, and you will miss the treasure (thus wasting precious seconds).
This version of Gold Miner adds the ability to move side to side on the mine rails. This can help you position your claw and reel more directly above hard-to-grab items.
To move your mining cart sideways, press the Left Arrow / Right Arrow keys.

Gems, Rocks, & Grab Bags
Some of the underground treasures you can find in Gold Miner Vegas online are:
Gold Nuggets. Shiny yellow gold nuggets vary in size. The larger the nugget, the more dollars it is worth.
But the larger the nugget, the heavier it is and therefore takes longer to reel in.
Diamonds & Gems. The gems are very valuable but tricky to hit with your claw because they are so small. Sometimes gems will be found in the mouths of creatures such as dingos (they look a bit like armadillos).
So grabbing the animal gets you the diamond gem as well. Besides diamonds, you can find emeralds, rubies, and sapphires at higher levels.
Plain Rocks. Rocks are heavy and not very valuable. Don't waste time extracting if there are more valuable items still in the ground.
Grab Bags. Mystery bags can be pulled up that contain either money or special items. For example, a grab bag might contain $500 or a Laser Claw.
Items you can find in grab bags in Gold Miner Vegas online include:
Money. As mentioned above, some grab bags contain cash money.
Laser Claw. Adds a red laser to your reel. The laser makes it very easy to time the drop of your claw and reel.
Simply wait until the laser passes over the treasure you want to grab, then press the Down Arrow key at the same instant.
Super Claw. The Super Claw makes you stronger so you can pull up heavy gold nuggets, rocks, and so on much faster.
Spiked Claw. I haven't pulled one up yet, so I'm not sure what it does.
Equipment & Power-Ups
You can purchase the items in the list below from the Shop Keeper between levels. The Strength Potion is almost always worth buying, in my opinion.
Diamond Polish. This makes any gems reeled up in the next level more valuable. Since gems are already worth quite a lot, the diamond polish may be a good investment.
Dynamite. Use to get rid of unwanted items, especially rocks. The number of sticks you have remaining displays on the side of your mining cart.
To throw a stick of dynamite at an object that is on your reel, press the Up Arrow key.
Lucky Clover. Increases the value of items found in grab bags in the next level.
Oil Can. Makes your track cart move faster.
Pocket Watch. This adds 15 seconds to the timer. I always buy this.
Rock Collector's Book. Triples the value of rocks in the next level.
Strength Potion. Makes you a lot stronger during the next level. Increased strength allows you to reel up heavy nuggets and rocks much faster than usual.
Titanium Cable. Lets you reel up very heavy objects. At higher levels, there are rocks and gold nuggets so big that you literally cannot pull them up without these cables.
At higher levels, you will run into other miners who compete with you for the gold and other treasures. On one level, there was a miner named 'Hansel' with a super claw that took away many of the valuables before I could reel them up!
