I paid almost $1,500 for my custom PC (including the monitors, cables, desk, etc.) and I made $0. I also purchased courses, watched hundreds of ZBrush and 3D Studio Max tutorials and nothing. I must admit that I started from 0, but it's really hard.
3D Models are profitable if you work for a popular company such as Ubisoft, Blizzard, EA Games, Activision, etc. and not for TurboSquid.

If you haven't started yet or you don't have any idea about 3D Modeling, then simply forget about it.
A lot of back pain, a lot of concentration, a lot of rage (for not accomplishing something), and so much work to do for a single model.
I personally knew a guy from Ukraine who had 130 models (great models!) and he was working with another 2 partners. He told me that they make around $400-$500 each per month. Just imagine how much work they've put into their models for $500.
When I started that, I just wanted to make money online from something which I enjoy doing... I liked 3D, but it wasn't profitable for me.
