I'm looking for some good sitcom pilots to read. Of course, I have my personal preferences when it comes to comedy but I'm willing to give most things a try if the pilot is really well written.

I'd appreciate some suggestion - with links please.

Here are mine:

Archer:

Even if you’re not a fan of the show, it’s a really good pilot. Fast and frenetic and lots of plot threads that are all woven together neatly.

Episodes

Kind of the opposite to Archer. It’s slower and with fewer jokes on the page. However, it’s really good for ‘on topic’ jokes. The main characters move into a really big fancy house and want to take a sensual bath together. It takes so long to fill the bath even half way that they lose the mood. It’s an OK joke, but importantly, it’s about the size of the house rather than just some random banter.

The Office

The office has such a distinctive style that there’s the danger you’ll imitate it and end up writing yet another mockumentary. There’s some nice subtle stuff in here, though. Like Pam yawns and then we see Jim yawn, so that shows he must have been looking at her. A lot of the jokes aren’t ‘gags’ as such, just character work so it’s a great read if you like that.

FRIENDS

Love it or hate it, it’s interesting to compare the script and what the actors ended up doing with it.

I never watched more than a couple of episodes of this show but the pilot script is really good! A lot of the comedy comes from exposing the illogical things that humans do from the eyes of an alien.
