M4a Codec For Windows 10

Thank you so much for your quick response.

I have been away to see my grandson and on my return I was loathe to open up my laptop and try and read all the things suggested to resolve my problem.

. Disc Handler - For double click playback on BluRay disc icons in Windows Explorer. Codec Settings GUI - Allows the user to modify codec, graphics and sound settings. Codec Settings UAC (User Account Control) Manager - Copies settings between users. Update Checker - Checks for updates once every 7 days (Administrator only). A couple of weeks ago I downloaded Windows 10, now I can't play any of my camera/phone videos that I have made. They are M4A files and I have never had problems playing them through Windows Media.

Well I have just done that, but not solved the problem. But I did see that M4a files are supported by the player.

This is what happens when I click on a video clip of mine:

Up comes Groove Music

then the notice 'Can't play. To continue using this app install the latest version.'

It then gives a link to 'Find help for this' or a link to 'Give Microsoft feedback about problem' and the following code: 0xc1010003 (0x80040154).

I clicked on Find help for this and it takes me to Support XBox!!

I have looked at Need help with Windows 10 but can't find any specific to playing my camera/tablet videos that I had been able to play with no problem at all before.

I then clicked on th video clip again and selected open with Windows Media Player, which then displays at box saying 'Windows Media Player encountered a problem whilst playing the file. Pressed the web help button and it goes to a page with error code C00D11B1 but can't find a solution on there that seems appropriate.

I am not an expert, just use my laptop, tablet & phone for emails, phone calls, taking photos & videos and playing them back! Sorry to bother you but just wonder whether I should try and go back to Windows 8, but need guidance on that!! Thank you Roberta
